These pieces are from history class. Each week we read a chapter, write a visual essay and emulate a style in the book and recreate it. History 1 is a travel poster, and History 2 is a book cover.
These are my first two color class projects. We're currently working with illusions and distortions. Color 1 is using basic geometric forms and color to create certain illusions written under them. Color 2 is where we had to use only color and type to create a mural on the wall that had an illusion, distortion, or effect happening in them.
These projects are from Type class every Tuesday. These two spreads are based on the Magazine Afar, a travel magazine. Basically we're given all the information and told to make an appealing spread.
This class is based on the book The Cheese Monkeys by Chip Kidd. Each week we read a chapter then pick a sentence out of the chapter and create a conceptional piece based on that, in the style of the time of the book. So around 1950s.
